What to include on your details card?

The ‘details card’ or ‘information card’ is an extra piece of card that goes with your wedding invitation giving the finer details of the wedding. It allows you to include all the information you need to without overshadowing your invitation. Here are some ideas of information to include on your card:

  1. Venue location: Include the venue address, a map, driving directions or ‘what3words’ for location.

  2. Transport: Provide transportation options, especially if the ceremony and reception are at a different venue. Include details on any pick-up points or reservations required.

3. Parking: Inform guests about available parking, costs and duration. Suggest alternatives if parking is limited. This could also be included on a map if you are choosing to include this.

4. Dress code: If you would like your guests dressed in a particular attire, ensure to communicate this to them. For example; black tie, cocktail dress, smart casual, morning suits required, hats are encouraged.

5. Children: If you do not want children at your wedding, communicate this sensitively.

6. Gifts: Do you not want any gifts? Do you have an online gift registry? Would you like a contribution to your honeymoon? Let your guests know and ensure to include a link if you do have an online gift registry.

7. Pre/post wedding events: If you are having any other wedding events, for example the night before or the day after, ensure to include all relevant details including the location and time.

8. Website: You can include this as a QR code or your website URL. This is a great option for communicating lots of information and also allows your guests to RSVP online.
