Wedding Stationery Timeline

When it comes to planning your wedding and all the things you need to consider, knowing when to send out your save the dates and invites and organise your on the day stationery can be a bit of mindfield. Below is a handy timeline for you to help navigate the various needs of your wedding stationery.

  1. Save the dates: 12 months in advance

Once you have secured your wedding venue and date and finalised your guest list, it’s time to send out your save the dates. Informing your guests early lets them mark the date in their calenders, make travel and accommodation arrangements and ensure they are not double booked. This is particularly crucial if you are getting married in peak season or at a destination location.

2. Invitations: 4-6 months before your big day

Sending your invitations out gives guests all the essential details they need for your big day. By this point, you will likely have a clear vision of your wedding aesthetic, so you can get your invitations to match, to give your guests a taster of what to expect on your day.

3. On the Day Stationery: 2-3 months before

Avoid last minute stress and ensure you enquire about your on the day stationery 2-3 months in advance. This gives enough time for your stationery to be created and delivered at least 2 weeks prior to your wedding date.

4. RSVP deadline: 2 months before

This gives you time to sort your seating plan, so your on the day stationery can be created with plenty of time.

5. Thank you cards: 1-3 months after your wedding

Ensure to thank all your guests, within in the 3 month period after your wedding day.
